First released in 1985, the Nintendo game Super Mario Bros., is one of the most successful computer games of all time. Now a dedicated fan, Joseph Karam, has transcribed the music from the game — originally composed by Koji Kondo — for piano. The transcriptions range from longer musical sections to our favourite the coin sound (below). ‘All I wanted was some authentic, high-fidelity Mario sheet music that was entirely faithful to the original Mario themes and sound effects, and which could be trusted to be 100% accurate so that I could feel confident I was learning how to play the real thing,’ says Karam.
