Letters: Radio Yogurt

Dear Editor,

I knew a man years ago starting an Irish yogurt company. ‘It’s amazing,’ he said. ‘the more sugar we put in it the more it sells.’

Reading in the Irish Times recently that the new head of RTÉ radio, Adrian Moynes, wishes to bolster the faltering performance of Lyric FM with even more ‘popular classical hits’ I wonder if this is wise if the sweeteners that were added last year aren’t working?

Radio isn’t yogurt, although it could aspire to be. Real yogurt has no sweeteners. Yogurt has live cultures. It is also probiotic, which means ‘related to life and living things’.
