The Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences is seeking a committed and dedicated Principal Lecturer in Music to join the team within the Department of Music and Performing Arts. Based in Cambridge, this is a thriving multi-disciplinary department, committed to research-informed teaching, with an expanding portfolio of courses. Music courses include BA (Hons) Music, BA (Hons) Popular Music, BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology and MA Music Therapy. Departmental research was recognised as world leading in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

You’ll undertake both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and, where appropriate, research supervision. You’ll also be expected to contribute to the supervision of research students and to the Department Research strategy. With a research profile commensurate with the stage of your career, you’ll make a contribution to the thriving research profile of the group, and will engage in income generation.

With a PhD or Professional Doctorate, you’ll have experience of academic leadership and curriculum development and will play an important role in the future development of the music provision.  You’ll have proven substantial teaching experience at Higher Education (HE) level in any area of music relevant to our provision.
