The Job

ECaM Violin and Viola Tutors (sessional)

The Every Child a Musician Programme delivers instrumental music tuition to all Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 children in Newham’s schools. We are currently expanding the programme to Years 3 and 4 and Year 8 in a whole class teaching model. It is a mass participation programme working in partnership with more than 73 schools in the East London borough. The children receive weekly instrumental music tuition, for a period of three years. The tuition is free to the child and their family and they are provided with a free musical instrument.

This job is a great opportunity to join a ground breaking programme as an instrumental tutor. You will deliver instrumental tuition sessions in Newham’s schools.

We offer lessons in a variety of instruments and we now need to recruit Violin and Viola tutors. At the moment it is essential that we fill sessions on Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am until 6pm. Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons are particularly busy so you must be available to fill these sessions between the hours of 12 noon and 4pm.

Pay rate will be between £20 and £25 per hour, including holiday supplement, depending on qualification, experience and training.
