The Faculty of Music, University of Oxford, proposes to appoint a part-time (0.5 FTE) Director of Musical Performance and Performance Studies, with effect from 1 September 2018. This post will be offered for a period of 2 years in the first instance.

Applications are welcome from candidates who are active professional musicians on any instrument (including voice) and in any tradition, or who have substantial experience of teaching performance at an institution of higher education, or the equivalent. The successful candidate will have the potential to enhance the high reputation of the Faculty in teaching, research and musical performance. The successful candidate will have a proven record of or an ongoing commitment to performance at a high level.

The person appointed will be required to provide a range of lectures, seminars, workshops and masterclasses for the Faculty of Music to support various aspects of the Faculty’s teaching and research in performance and performance studies. The appointee will be required to provide teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to undertake examining, graduate supervision, and administrative duties where appropriate.

Candidates should have a degree (or equivalent) in music, and evidence of advanced training in musical performance. They should have acquired teaching and administrative experience.
