Lecturer in Music Theatre – Music Direction Mentorship

The Department of Drama is establishing a search of qualified applicants for a position as part-time lecturer for the 2018-2019 academic year in the curriculum area of Music Theatre - Music Direction mentorship.

The department seeks applicants who can mentor MFA in Music Direction candidates.

A BA or BFA in Music or Drama/Theatre Arts is required. An MFA in Conducting or Music Direction is a plus. Candidates will supervise MFA music directors in productions and projects as well as meet individually with each candidate throughout the quarter.

Candidates for this position must have outstanding professional credits in musical theatre musical direction, composing, and/or conducting as well as a strong commitment to teaching, training, and working within the university. 

Candidates must demonstrate a pedagogical and professional profile that is compatible with a distinguished graduate professional musical theatre degree program at a major research university. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability and commitment to work effectively with a diverse student population.
