The Marriage of Figaro

The Marriage of Figaro

Tuesday, 16 February 2016, 7.00pm

DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama presents Mozart’s glorious opera masterpiece, Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro). This anarchic tale, which has shocked, scandalised and thrilled audiences for over two hundred years, reveals the dalliances, dramas and dangerous liaisons conducted by those who live upstairs and downstairs in the Almaviva household. Set in the early 1900s in a world of emerging social equality, this production reflects the themes of rebellion, class and sexual politics woven into Da Ponte’s brilliant libretto, while Mozart’s irrepressible score carries everyone along on this operatic rollercoaster. Featuring DIT vocalists, DIT Symphony Orchestra. Conductor: Killian Farrell. Director: Jennifer Hamilton.
