Box Office Administrator

Thursday, 17 September 2015, 10.00am

The academy is looking for a customer focussed professional and helpful Box Office Administrator, with excellent customer care skills, to provide the Academy’s Box Office service.

The Royal Academy of Music is a stimulating and friendly environment with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 50 countries.  Based in central London adjacent to Regent’s Park, we have been training musicians to the highest professional standards since our foundation in 1822.  Many of the world’s leading musicians and performers studied with the academy and it is firmly focussed on developing tomorrow’s musical leaders in a number of disciplines including classical, jazz, and musical theatre.

Using the ‘Patron Edge’ ticketing system, duties will include dealing with all enquiries and ticket sales of the Academy’s public events (c.200 internal/external events annually), including allocating seats, maintaining accurate records of all ticket income and recording required statistical information. Additional duties involve the co-ordination of Front of House student staffing, plus the provision of administrative support to the General Office and Estates department.

You will be an excellent communicator, on all levels, with engaging and warm customer service skills and experience of working with a wide range of patrons and customers. You will be highly organised and have the ability to show initiative and work as part of a team. You will be a proficient user of Word and Excel and be able to work in a very busy and often demanding environment. Previous switchboard/customer service experience is desirable as well as good knowledge and experience of using ‘Patron Edge’.
