Kathleen Dineen, from Macroom Co Cork, but now residing in Switzerland, founded White Raven, an A Capella Trio, in 2001. With the dream of merging her two passions – Irish Traditional and Medieval Song, White Raven has been attracting a wide audience in Europe for almost seventeen years. Their elegant, clear sound and dynamic performance style has enraptured music lovers across the continent, building them a loyal following in this time. Their three-part settings and arrangements echo the sonorities of the 15th century chanson, with its characteristic fluid fauxbourdon style, while always striving to maintain the integrity of the original song. Described by critics as ‘voices of purest gold’, this is very much an international trio, with American Tenor, Robert Getchell and French Baritone, Mathias Spoerry, joining Irish Soprano, Kathleen Dineen. All three members of White Raven are active in the field of Early Music.
