Call for Artists – Dublin's Day of Creativity for Children

Monday, 30 April 2018, 11.55pm

Dublin City Council is seeking expressions of interest from artists, creative and cultural venues in the city to work with the Council to present the city’s inaugural Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of creativity for children and young people on June 23rd 2018.

Cruinniú na nÓg is an initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme at the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and is presented in partnership with the Local Authorities and RTÉ. The focus for Dublin City Council’s Cruinniú na nÓg 2018 will be on activities taking place in the city’s suburbs, neighbourhoods and villages, enabling young people to access creativity where they live, in their communities, with their friends and family.

AWARD GUIDELINES:

  • Dublin’s Culture Connects encourage organisations and venues to apply to present children-focused artistic work or new opportunities for children to access and participate in creativity.

  • Dublin’s Culture Connects encourages artists to aim for artistic excellence in their practice involving children and arts.
  • All events should be focussed on children and/or young people (0- 18).
  • Activities should aim to have children and young people ‘doing’, ‘making’ or ‘seeing’.
  • All events should be free.
  • All creatives / artists should be paid equitably for their work, time and preparation/development.
  • This open call aims to reach a balanced geographical spread in the Dublin City Council area so that creativity, creative workshops and events are available in many Dublin neighbourhoods on the day.
