DMU is seeking to recruit a Music Co-ordinator to work directly with the Head of DMU Music to deliver an exciting portfolio of Music programmes at DMU in collaboration with students, members of staff and a number of local, national and international strategic partners. 

The project co-ordinator will work alongside the Head of DMU Music to lead the operational management and ensure successful delivery of all DMU Music projects and programme strands in collaboration with colleagues from across the University and also with key partner organisations, artists and ensembles in the city, nationally and internationally. 

  • Provide operational support to the Head of DMU Music and Strategic and International Partnerships Directorate
  • Lead the operational management and delivery of all DMU Music projects, concerts, rehearsals and events presented both on and off campus
  • Co-ordinate the ‘live’ performance programmes and residency projects on campus with leading international artists and in collaboration with a number of partner organisations.
  • Co-ordinate all DMU Music marketing and communications activity, primarily with the central DMU central communications team and also with external partner organisations
  • With the Head of DMU Music and in collaboration with the Careers & Employability team, co-ordinate an annual internships programme for DMU students and graduates.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the pilot Music Scholarships programme.
  • Be the ‘first point of contact’ for all DMU Music enquiries including but not limited to students, DMU Orchestra members, audiences and venues. Ensure that any issues are resolved within a timely manner.
  • Manage all operational enquiries from DMU Music partner organisations satisfactorily.
  • With the Head of DMU Music and DMU Orchestra Musical Director, provide key operational support to the strategic planning process and the development of DMU Music programmes.
  • Assist the Head of DMU Music in the preparation of reports and, where required, attend internal and external meetings with colleagues and partners organisations.
  • Undertake any necessary training to ensure compliance with health and safety, first aid and risk assessment requirements for events
  • Provide budgeting reports relating to events and liaise with external partners to ensure value for money is achieved
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the job grade as reasonably required from time to time.
  • Treat all DMU staff, students, contractors and visitors with dignity and respect.   • The post holder is required to minimise environmental impact in the performance of the role, seek to promote environmental sustainability within area of responsibility and actively contribute to the delivery of the DMU Environmental Policy.
