Schubert: Dreaming the Sublime

For this second of five lunchtime concerts exploring Schubert’s extraordinary collection of Lieder, soprano Ailish Tynan and pianist Iain Burnside perform some of Schubert’s best-loved songs, including Schwanengesang (‘Swan Song’) and the hypnotic Nacht und Träume (‘Night and Dreams’).

Soprano Ailish Tynan is one of the finest Irish singers of her generation. Since winning the RTÉ Millennium Singer of the Future competition in 2000 she has performed recitals, concerts and operatic roles all over Europe. She often collaborates with Iain Burnside, the pianist and Sony Award-winning broadcaster who has worked with many of the world’s leading singers, and in 2015 their recording of Schubert Lieder, Nacht und Träume, was released to great acclaim.
