Sunny music for summer! ​

​T​he evocative melodies and grooves of ​music by ​​some of sunny Brazil's most brilliant composers including; Jobim, Powell, Bosco, Nascimento, Joyce and more.

Following the warm response to their recent lunchtime concert at the National Concert Hall, Emilie Conway and her band is delighted to present their exploration of the music from Brazil, inviting you to bask in beautiful melodies, the warmth of the Portuguese language, the lyricism of its poets, its gentle swaying grooves and lively sambas.

Emilie is joined by some of the leading lights of the Irish jazz and world music scene : pianist, Johnny Taylor, guitarist, Paddy Groenland, (Ensemble Eriu, West African group Manden Express, Leafzang) Bassist Dave Mooney, (Gavin Friday, Sarah Brightman, Jeff Ramsey, Al Jarreau Group) and Brazilian drummer, Andre Antunes, (Loah, Republic of Loose, Sinead O Connor, Amy Winehouse, Edu Ribeiro, Leo Maia).

​Increasingly noted by critics for her creativity, ​Emilie created and presented a celebration of the life and work of writer and social diarist Maeve Brennan, "You Won't Forget Me," in the hip Cornelia St Café in New York and at the National Concert Hall, last September where it sold out.
