Daoirí Farrell

Saturday, 14 April 2018, 8.00pm

A former electrician, who decided to change profession after seeing Christy Moore perform on Irish TV, we are thrilled to welcome back to The Crescent, Dublin-born traditional singer and bouzouki player Daoirí Farrell.

Described by some of the biggest names in Irish folk music as one of most important singers to come out of Ireland in recent years, Daoirí performed a sold out gig here at The Crescent in September 2017 and wowed audiences with his bold and powerfully unadorned vocals and his incredible talent.

Six months after releasing the album ‘True Born Irishman’ Daoirí won two prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2017 for Best Newcomer, and Best Traditional Track and also performed live at the awards ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall. His performance at the Folk Awards can be viewed here.

In 2017 he has toured twice to the UK, Australia and Canada, and played major festivals in Ireland, the UK, Belgium, Denmark and more.

If you missed your chance to see his previous gig, be sure to join us this April as we welcome back to Belfast this exceptionally good singer with a great bunch of songs.
