Assistant Piano Accompanist Positions

The Association of Irish Choirs is inviting applications for assistant accompanists as part of its International Choral Conducting Summer School that runs from 7th – 12th August, 2016. The primary duties of the assistant accompanists will be to accompany conducting classes and rehearsals as required by tutors. Other duties may be included depending on the applicant’s skills and qualifications. There will also be the opportunity to observe and to work with the renowned principal accompanist, Peter Barley. The Association of Irish Choirs will provide accommodation (if required) during the School for assistant accompanists. However, as this is a training position there will not be a fee payment. Candidates will be selected based on suitability to the role by a panel including Peter Barley, principal accompanist, Bernie Sherlock, Artistic Director, and Dermot O’Callaghan, CEO AOIC. The School commences on the morning of Sunday, 7th August and finishes on Friday afternoon, 12th August.
