Eilis and Emily Elliott: A New Ireland in the Orchard Air (1916 Centenary Project)

A musical celebration of the lives of Eilis and Emily Elliott who were founding members of Cumann na mBan and were actively involved in the 1916 Easter Rising. Westmeath musician Enda Seery has composed a suite of traditional Irish music to honour Eilis and Emily Elliott who originated from Glasson near Athlone in Co. Westmeath.

Enda Seery will be performing a new suite of Traditional Irish Music ‘A New Ireland in the Orchard Air’ to celebrate Eilis and Emily Elliott on Easter Monday night, 28th March @8:30pm in Áras an Mhuilinn, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath with a host of other Westmeath musicians, singers and dancers performing on the night too. Admission free.
