Marketing and Communications Executive – Part Time
The individual will be responsible for devising and delivering effective marketing communications campaigns, both seasonal and show specific, to grow and enhance the Cork Opera House brand, to promote the Cork Opera House programme and to drive sales by utilising marketing tools including:
Direct marketing: Postcards, letters, texts, e-newsletters
Print planning, production & distribution: Flyers, brochures, programmes, posters etc
Traditional media advertising: Local, Regional and National – Press, Radio, Outdoor and TV/Cinema
PR & Media relations: Local, Regional and National
Event Management: Coordinate launches, media events and sales promotion activities
Entertainment listings: Online, Press and Radio
Digital marketing: Consulting with the digital marketing executive in developing online campaigns
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive marketing communications programmes to achieve show sales targets including measurement and budget tracking.
Developing media plans that increase reach and optimise frequency, working across a range of media and marketing tools.
Copy writer for various public relations activities, including brochures, press releases, social media, e-zines, website, Radio/TV advertising & media activities.
Researching forthcoming companies/artists/events in relevant programming areas.
Responsible for media buying and implementation (including radio adverts, outdoor such as
poster spaces, flyer space, bus shelters, quads, shopping centre spaces, billboards).
Source all quotes and brief third party suppliers including: photographers, graphic designers, printers, promotional staff and manage their output in line with marketing requirements
Present marketing plans including costs to promoters for approval
Rollout marketing communications programmes on time and within budget
Manage and maintain effective relationships with show promoters ( or Developing relationships with promoters, stakeholders, press and all external bodies)
Other responsibilities
To attend performances and other events as required out of normal hours.
Ensure company management guidelines and policies are followed.
To act as an ambassador for the house.
To ensure the house is dressed correctly (internal branding).
To manage and maintain positive relationships with staff, promoters, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
To support the overall marketing objectives of Cork Opera House both externally and internally.
Office Administration – Creation and maintenance of all databases and carrying out administration as necessary for the effective running of the Marketing Department.
To undertake reasonable duties at the request of the Marketing Management Team.
Qualification and/or experience
Marketing/Communication qualification; or
Minimum two years’ experience of working in a marketing role in a sales/target driven environment;
Interest in the performing arts an advantage.
Cork Opera House is in Cork, Ireland.
Reporting
This role reports directly to the Marketing Manager.
