BBC Performing Arts Fund Fellowship

Monday, 18 August 2014, 5.00pm

Offering bespoke placements within existing organisations, the Fellowship scheme is designed to support individuals through the early stages of their performing arts careers. Covering dance, theatre, music and anything in-between, through this scheme we hope to identify the next generation of performing arts talent, whether they are directors, choreographers, composers, playwrights, dancers, actors, musicians, producers or any other creative working in the sector.

Launching on 1st May 2014, the Fellowship scheme aims to support individuals through the early stages of their performing arts career; helping them to establish themselves in the professional world through bespoke placements within existing organisations. The Fellowship will lead to an exciting new creative network in the performing arts sector, supported, developed and ready to launch their professional careers.

We want to increase the Fellows’ skills through training and development opportunities tailored to the individual, to raise their aspirations, and to encourage collaboration.

Rather than awarding grants directly to individuals themselves, we are looking for applications from performing arts companies, organisations, venues and festivals from across the UK to host a Fellow who should be selected by the organisation.

Fellows should be ambitious, willing to take on a challenge and looking for ways to increase their profile and take the next step in their careers.

Organisations should be willing to offer an amazing opportunity to the Fellow – tailored to the individual Fellow and giving them the benefit and support of all aspects of the organisation from mentoring, performance opportunities, and training to access to equipment, space and audiences.

Think you are familiar with the Fellowship application process? Think again. We’ve made some changes so please take the time to follow these steps for a guided tour of the scheme:
