Rigoletto

Rigoletto

Saturday, 23 May 2015, 7.30pm

Full of passion, revenge and betrayal, Verdi’s masterpiece Rigoletto is a tragic tale of a father desperate to protect his innocent daughter from the clutches of his boss, the degenerate womaniser, the Duke.

Sung in English Rigoletto is full of exquisite duets and instantly recognisable music– especially ‘La donna è mobile’ (All women are fickle). This classic tale is reimagined by acclaimed director Selina Cartmell, in a new translation by Marina Carr, with Fergus Sheil conducting the Opera Theatre Company ensemble.
