Head of Marketing and Communications

The Abbey Theatre are seeking a Head of Marketing and Communications for a full time position.

The right candidate will have:
– At least five years’ experience in a marketing and communications role, including digital
marketing expertise, of which at least three years should be at management level
– The post holder will have developed and managed multi-platform marketing campaigns,
with significant achievements in the use of digital marketing
– Experience of brand planning, marketing planning and execution of same
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with colleagues,
other internal teams and external stakeholders
– Analytical skills, including measurement and evaluation, market research, insight generation, and
knowledge of leveraging CRM systems
– Third-party agency management - (design, digital, communications, etc.)
– Management experience in the areas of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement,
organisation, resources and leadership
– Demonstrable achievement in and understanding of strategic thinking, initiative and
problem-solving
– A track record of building teams and developing staff
– Experience of budgeting and financial management
– A passion for theatre and the ability to communicate, accordingly
– A creative approach to problem solving
– A high level of self-motivation and autonomy, and an appetite for change
– A degree of flexibility, as the post requires attendance at performances and events outside
of normal hours on a reasonably regular basis
– The post holder will be responsible for Marketing and Communications Team and so needs
to be both a team player and an effective and supportive leader
