ConTempo Countywide: Ballinasloe #2

Thursday, 24 May 2018, 1.00pm

As part of its ConTempo Countywide series, the Galway Music Residency’s Ballinasloe Lunchtime Series continues on Thursday 24th May at 1pm. Continuing its commitment to bringing performance to rural centres throughout County Galway, and celebrating its ongoing partnership with Ballinasloe Library, the Galway Music Residency presents the Galway ConTempo Quartet in this lively series for the local Ballinasloe community.

The series’ programme brings together the best of Beethoven and the most intriguing of new music. This Thursday 24th May, audiences will hear Beethoven’s Cavatina from String Quartet Op 130 and his Grosse Fugue paired with a selection of fugues from Bach and Mozart, as well as Irish composer Elaine Agnew’s Ready Stead Go. The series concludes on 14th June.

Supported by NUI Galway (Education Partner), Arts Council, GMIT, Galway City and County Councils, admission to these events is free, open to all and early arrival is recommended. For further information, visit
