Animateur Vanessa King
Join the NCH and the London Symphony Orchestra Ensemble for a day of music, stories and more on Cruinniú na nÓg, the national day of youthful creativity.
Little ones can explore Sculptunes, a musical installation for early years’ children by artist Helen Barry and musician Eamonn Sweeney, before gathering with their families for an interactive concert with the LSO Ensemble and renowned animateur Vanessa King, telling the tale of Fergal the dragon.
A dragon with a short temper is not a good combination, as Fergal’s family and friends soon find out. He burns the dinner (literally), reduces the football goal to ashes and absolutely cannot play a nice, quiet board game. It is only when he starts to notice other animals have clever tricks to calm down that Fergal begins to win back his friends, especially when he discovers dragons can cool off in a very handy way.
Based on the book Fergal is Fuming! By Robert Starling, the story helps teach children what to do when their temper threatens to get the better of them. Listen to some excerpts here
Designed for families with children under the age of 5.
Presented by the NCH in partnership with the London Symphony Orchestra, as part of Cruinniú na nÓg.
