The Board of Cork Opera House are seeking an Interim CEO on a specific purpose contract basis to replace the current CEO who will be on maternity leave. This is a unique opportunity to lead a very progressive, talented and dynamic team and fulfil one of Ireland’s most exciting arts jobs.

Cork Opera House is at the heart of Cork’s arts and entertainment industry. There is a sense of ownership and pride in Cork Opera House from the people of the region, who see the institution as a beacon of Cork life. Cork Opera House’s artistic credibility is at an all-time high. The Company has become one of the most prolific producers of large scale work in the country and the quality of our productions is recognised by audiences and reviewers alike.  Our programme is varied and caters for all audiences. In recent years, the company has seen growth in audience numbers resulting directly from an increased number of in-house productions, which now represent half of Cork Opera House’s annual output.

(f) Maximising the profitability of the Company while ensuring effective cost control;
(g) Overseeing the delivery of the artistically led programme at Cork Opera House.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in leading an arts organisation and management team in a robust and competitive arts environment and reporting to a Board of Directors. He/she will be mindful of the artistic and commercial balance required within a publicly funded venue and will have a strong background in programming and producing artistic work.

Candidates are invited to apply in confidence by emailing a cover letter and comprehensive curriculum vitae to Eibhlin Gleeson (ceorecruit [at] corkoperahouse.ie) no later than close of business on Friday August 24th August 2018. A full role profile is available on request.
