Lower Strings Specialist

Centre for Musical Arts in Dubai are recruiting full-time Lower Strings Specialist for January 2015.

Successful candidates will join a team of 27 full-time teachers and will be required to teach children and adults. Candidates should also have experience of teaching individually and in groups. The applicant should have the ability and experience to teach all music styles and preferably experience in a British Curriculum school with ABRSM knowledge.

The applicant should have the ability to teach CELLO and DOUBLE BASS students individual lessons (30, 45 minute or 1 hour) and group lessons on a peripatetic basis in local schools.  Terms are based on British Curriculum basis with 13 week Fall and Spring term and a 10 week Summer term. Optional 1 week summer school.

At least one years experience working with young children as well as adults is a requirement, as well as exposure to group teaching / peripatetic teaching preferably in a British Curriculum school system. The applicant should have a warm, personable demeanor and plenty of enthusiasm!

Music performance, pedagogy or education, with an emphasis in general strings teaching.  The ability to also accompany your students on piano will be highly considered, as well as the ability to teach other instruments especially beginner violin.

Starting salary is AED 12,000 tax-free per month.  Package includes full private medical insurance, flight allowance per year and 10 weeks paid holiday.

Staff are contracted to work 35 hours a week with a 2 day weekend that currently falls on a Thursday and Friday.
