University of Sheffield is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to develop artificial intelligence techniques for music generation using deep learning methods. This is an exciting fixed-term project, which will involve close collaboration with a group of musicians.

You will lead the development of deep learning methods to automatically generate music, including chord sequences, melody lines and drum patterns. You will also contribute to the development of methods and algorithms for acoustic manipulation of musical sound.

Candidates must have a PhD (or be close to completion) or have equivalent work experience. You should have a strong understanding of deep learning and audio signal processing, and excellent programming skills in Python and deep learning frameworks (particularly Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch).
