Competition for a new string quartet written by Irish or Irish-resident composers under 35. 5-8 minutes duration. Deadline Tuesday 19th March.
In addition to €750 prize money for each winner and three nights' accommodation at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, all 4 winners will be invited to attend a public workshop where their work will be played live and workshopped with a dedicated Irish/Brittish conservatoire quartet for each work. Each work will receive its world premiere in 4 individual concerts later that week.
Past winners include Ryan Molloy, Solfa Carlisle, Robert Coleman, Amanda Feery, Sean Doherty, Harry Whalley and Finola Merivale.
