Development Manager

Monday, 25 May 2015, 12.00pm

The Tate Development Office, founded in 1990, is now one of the most successful arts fundraising teams in the UK.

Tate is looking for an accomplished fundraiser to join its Major Gifts team to play a key role in cultivating and stewarding major gift support for Tate’s Acquisitions. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting three of Tate’s acquisitions committees, growing and maintaining these with a view to ensuring that income potential is achieved.

In consultation with Head of Collections, the Development Manager will manage a portfolio of major gift donors and develop compelling proposals to enhance their engagement with Tate. You will also work closely with Head of Collections to maximise income from significant major donors. Your desire to hone your skills by working with some of the best fundraisers in their field will be key to your success in this role. Along the way you will be exposed to some of the world’s leading art collectors, philanthropists and curators.

A successful track record in fundraising or donor development is essential (including face to face), as is experience of maintaining outstanding levels of donor stewardship. You will be an enthusiastic self-starter able to work across a large and complex organisation with impeccable written communication and relationship building skills. You are inspired by the work of Tate and excited by the opportunity to build your fundraising experience at one of the UK’s premier cultural institutions.
