RTÉ, Ireland’s public service multi-media organisation, operates six Integrated Business Divisions (IBDs): Television, Radio, News and Current Affairs, Orchestras Quartet & Choirs, Digital and 2rn, together with a Corporate Centre.
 
RTÉ Orchestras Quartet and Choirs division invites applications for the position of Concerts and Planning Co-ordinator, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra (RTÉ NSO). This is a senior administrative position which carries the key day-to-day responsibilities for planning, co-ordinating and implementing the orchestra’s extensive national programme of concerts and events.
        
Reporting to the General Manager, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the Concerts and Planning Co-ordinator will assist the General Manager in the formulation of the overall artistic plan by negotiating and executing all third party contracts with artists, by efficiently scheduling the orchestra and by implementing all production, event and venue requirements within budget and on time.
 
The successful candidate will be qualified to third level in Music and a business or arts administration qualification is desirable. She/he will have worked for 3-5 years in the same or similar role in an arts, business or entertainment environment.
 
The successful candidate will be highly organised, have excellent IT and project management skills, well-developed third party negotiating experience and expertise and will be capable of demonstrating a relevant track record of achievement in delivering short and medium term projects within challenging deadlines. The successful applicant will be expected to work unsocial hours.
 
Appointment will be made on an ongoing employment contract basis at Administrative Grade 1 level.
