This new position plays a core role in turning all of the live activity that the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales deliver into broadcast material. The primary platform that the orchestra can be heard on is BBC Radio 3 and this role will oversee and deliver the lion’s share of the orchestra’s producing needs for the network. Additionally this role will develop outstanding relationships with other platforms (Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, BBC TV, Radio 2, 6 Music and importantly BBC online) to develop appropriate broadcast material for these platforms and their audiences. Occasionally the role may be asked to produce third party activity (for CD production companies for example).

The position will also play a pivotal role in the co-ordination of external producer support to provide additional capacity on a project by project basis. Editorially choosing and scheduling this external support will be key to the successful delivery of the role. The role will be part of wider artistic planning and production team and will be managed by an Artistic Planning Manager (not yet appointed).
