Space & Sound

Sunday, 1 October 2017, 1.30pm

The Galway Music Residency is delighted to announce its final ‘Space & Sound’ concert in collaboration with NUI Galway and Architecture at the Edge. This series, which links music performances with talks on the history and development of university buildings and departments, concludes next Sunday, 1st October at 1pm in the brand new Human Biology Building.

The Galway Music Residency is delighted to partner with Architecture at the Edge for this event, the latest addition to the Galway’s festival calendar. This celebration of architecture will feature a series of talks, tours, workshops and exhibitions. Showcasing some of Galway’s most outstanding architectural features, buildings of architectural merit will open their doors for one weekend, with tours provided by expert guides.

At the heart of this festival weekend will be a performance by ConTempo Quartet in NUI Galway's latest capital investment, the Human Biology Building. ConTempo will be joined by STW Architect's Paul Mannion for a history of the building's development. With the option of a walking tour of campus following the event, a wonderful Sunday afternoon is promised.

Supported by NUI Galway, the Arts Council, Galway City and County Councils and GMIT, admission to this event is free, open to all and early arrival is recommended.
