The poetry and song of Ireland has enjoyed attention and invention the world over, a tradition stretching back to the writings of Saint Patrick and beyond. 4 in a Bar recasts these famous melodies in an entirely new fashion, one informed by the quartet’s ten year development of close harmony, a cappella singing.

4 in a Bar’s principal music arranger Eoin Conway (and countertenor singer) hand-picks the works that define the Irish story; names like Thomas Moore, W. B. Yeats, Patrick Kavanagh and others.

The result is a stunning assortment of familiar-yet-unfamiliar music for four male voices from Ireland’s premier vocal quartet.
