Sunday, 28 April 2019, 3.00pm

Early music ensemble Sestina presents a sumptuous programme of French Baroque music from the court of the Sun King, Louis XIV. Featuring rarely performed music from the Chapelle Royale, this indulgent programme includes Jean Baptiste Lully's celebratory motet for double choir Plaude laetare Gallia, written for the baptism of the King's grandson.

Experience music from French operá to that of the private court, including a unique opportunity to hear Marin Marais' exhilarating musical representation of a Tempest that was to take the Baroque era quite literally by storm!

Join the stunning young voices of Sestina and an outstanding Baroque chamber ensemble for this spectacular celebration of Music for the Sun King.
