Lecturer B in Popular Music
Goldsmiths University is seeking a dynamic individual with a commitment to teaching in HE and a significant profile. You will join a team of academic staff delivering an innovative and successful B.Mus. programme in Popular Music, as well as the M.Mus. (Popular Music) programme pathway which you will convene.
Your professional practice and experience must lie in songwriting and creative music technology as well as at least one of the following areas: popular music performance; music recording; audiovisual media. You will also have teaching experience at HE level, with a demonstrable ability to engage and enthuse students in practice-based and theoretical work. A knowledge or specialisation in contemporary Afro-diasporic musics is desirable.
You will teach on undergraduate and postgraduate modules in songwriting and creative music technology, as well as supervising undergraduate and postgraduate creative projects, linked to your expertise and experience. You will also offer innovation and imagination in the development of new teaching strategies for popular music practice.
