EMMA JOHNSON – CLARINETIST
Emma Johnson is one of very few clarinettists to have established a busy international career which has taken her to major European, American and Asian venues as well as to Africa and Australasia.
Her repertoire includes all the major clarinet concertos which has led to engagements with many of the world’s leading orchestras. Renowned for her lyrical freshness and spontaneous expressivity, Emma Johnson has also revealed an idiomatic feeling for jazz and blues in recent years.
JOHN LENEHAN – PIANIST
Praised by the New York Times for his “great flair and virtuosity” John Lenehan has appeared in concerts throughout the world as soloist with orchestras and as a chamber musician.
Like Emma Johnson, John Lenehan is increasingly drawn towards jazz and particularly early 20th Century styles including ragtime and stride piano and has recently been performing in a two-piano collaboration with the acclaimed improviser Jason Rebello.
