£33,792.60 per annum, fixed-term to 31 August 2018

Full-time (40 hours per week), based in Purfleet

The Royal Opera House is part of the network of Bridge organizations funded by Arts Council England to provide a bridge between the arts and education sectors in support of the goal to enable every child and young person to have the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts, museums and libraries.

The ROH Bridge operates across Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton and the Thames Gateway, acting as a broker to galvanize and facilitate the building of sustainable cultural partnerships in these regions. We co-invest in strategic activity that helps build infrastructure and sustain cultural learning opportunities over time, and measure our success through the increased number of children and young people who are engaging with creative and cultural learning experiences both in and out of school.

We are now seeking a dynamic individual to join us as Bridge Programme Manager for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Luton, to be responsible for developing partnerships, collaborations and external relationships across that region, and for supporting colleagues in the arts, culture and education sectors through activities including brokerage, networking and training, in order to address the needs of children and young people locally.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- A track record of project management in an arts, culture or heritage education context and a commitment to advocating the importance of the arts, culture and heritage to children and young people.

- Experience of working strategically to strengthen and sustain opportunities for young people to engage with cultural learning.

- Excellent knowledge of the current arts and cultural education and youth arts context.

- Ability to work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds and contexts.

- A commitment to collaborative working, and an understanding of the needs of successful partnership working.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
