£21,400 per annum pro rata (full time, one year fixed-term contract.

As part of Royal Opera House Media, the Publications team produces a range of print and publications, including marketing literature, the performance programmes, castbooks and other printed and digital materials to support the activities of the Royal Opera House.

The Royal Opera House is currently looking for an Editorial Assistant to edit and manage text content across a range of publications, working to the Commissioning Editor and Publications Officer (Opera and Music). The work entails creating and editing content, preparing page layout, proofing and correcting content to achieve a consistent house style, and archiving of materials. The position is full time, and is offered on a one year, fixed term contract.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player with these qualities:

- Copy-editing and proofreading skills with good attention to detail

- Sound editorial judgment based on a good understanding of the target audience

- Exemplary written English and experience of writing to house style

- Demonstrable computer literacy and ability to use a variety of software packages including the MS Office suite and Adobe CS5

- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines

- Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people and work collaboratively
