Notify and Mark Lettieri Trio on Tour

Notify and Mark Lettieri Trio on Tour

Friday, 17 November 2017, 8.00pm

Pádraig Rynne’s Notify are on a nationwide tour from 15 to 20 November, in a collaboration with Mark Lettieri – lead guitarist with Snarky Puppy – and his trio.

Notify consist of concertina player Pádraig Rynne, Cillian King on guitars & concertina, Eoin Walsh on electric bass, Davie Ryan on drums and Cormac McCarthy on piano and rhodes

They released their debut album in late 2013. In 2014 the band were commissioned by the Arts Council to collaborate with Irish singer Pauline Scanlon on a five-date Irish tour and released a four track EP to coincide with this. In 2015, Notify signed with American Jazz label Ropeadope and InConcept, the second full-length album from the band, was released in April 2016. It premiered at the no. 1 spot in the iTunes Jazz charts and at no. 9 in the mainstream iTunes charts.

The band have just released their new video, ‘The Aud’, which was recorded at the Mother Jones Flea Market in Cork City.

Mark Lettieri is a guitarist, composer, and producer based in Fort Worth, TX. Proficient in a multitude of styles, he records and performs in virtually every genre of popular music with both independent and major-label artists. He also composes and produces original instrumental music under his own name.

Playing in the vibrant Metroplex gospel and R&B scene led Lettieri to join jazz/world group Snarky Puppy in 2008, where he contributes as guitarist, as well as arranger and composer. The group has earned three GRAMMY Awards: Best R&B Performance (“Something” feat. Lalah Hathaway in 2014), and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album (Sylva in 2016, and Culcha Vulcha in 2017).

Aside from the Pups, Lettieri has spent time on the road with neo-soul icon Erykah Badu, gospel singer/actress Tamela Mann, and American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips. He’s also performed with a myriad of other artists, including Nelly, Anthony Evans, Chrisette Michele, Myron Butler, N’dambi, Bilal, Pat Boone, and even comedians Dave Chappelle and Harry Shearer.

Lettieri has released three albums as a leader: Knows in 2011, Futurefun in 2013, and most recently, Spark and Echo in 2016 (Ropeadope Records). Spark and Echo climbed to #11 on Billboard’s Jazz Albums Chart, and #2 on iTunes’ Jazz Chart. He performs frequently in a trio setting featuring a revolving rhythm section of world-class Dallas musicians, and has begun touring this music in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
