2nd Flute - Principal

We are seeking to fill the above position. Players are guaranteed a minimum of 28 weeks of work per year, and are provided with 5 months’ prior notice of their contracted work dates. Scottish Opera takes world-class opera to all corners of Scotland, ensuring that as many people as possible can enjoy this wonderful art form. The Company is based in Glasgow and the Orchestra performs mainstage and medium-scale opera, and participates in education and outreach work, concerts and recordings. Main Duties:

To play for all rehearsals and performances including concerts, recordings, education and outreach activity including touring in the U.K. and abroad.

To rehearse and perform for chamber operas and opera with reduced orchestration (ORO) when required by the Company.

To be punctual for all calls, seated, tuned and ready to play at the stated time of the rehearsals and performances.

To attend meetings and auditions for posts within the section as necessary, contributing as required
