Junior Academy offers outstanding tuition to young, talented musicians aged 12-18 on Saturdays during term time at one of the UK’s foremost music conservatoires.

RAM are seeking an exceptional conductor to work with the Junior Academy Symphony Orchestra. The suitable candidate will have the ability to inspire highly talented young musicians in a thriving musical environment, joining our teaching staff from January 2018. The orchestra is currently 90 strong and performs large-scale symphonic repertoire in termly concerts at the Academy. The orchestra has also on occasions performed at venues such as St John’s, Smith Square.

The post is hourly-paid and will include conducting the orchestra most Saturdays during term-time from 1-3pm. Extensive orchestral conducting experience is required for this post along with a deep knowledge and understanding of suitable repertoire for this age and standard of orchestra.
