Ulster Orchestra Professional Experience Scheme for Students

Ulster Orchestra Professional Experience Scheme for Students

Monday, 6 August 2018, 12.00pm

Following a successful first year, in which seven student participants joined the Ulster Orchestra for a range of projects and concerts, the Professional Experience Scheme again invites music students normally resident in Northern Ireland to apply to join this year’s programme of coaching and mentoring from Ulster Orchestra members.

The Scheme is open to members of the Ulster Youth Orchestra who are (or are about to begin) studying at third level, and are considering a career as a professional orchestral musician. Applications from non-UYO members will also be considered.

Three times during the academic year, successful applicants will come to Belfast to join with the orchestra in rehearsals, and where appropriate, be invited to play in concerts. Travel to Belfast from the student’s usual place of study and any local travel costs will be paid for by the orchestra.
