Audience Development Manager

Tuesday, 5 December 2017, 5.00pm

The Philharmonia Orchestra is embarking on a major four-year audience development project, The Virtual Orchestra, in its residency centres of Leicester, Bedford, Canterbury and Basingstoke, with the aim of attracting a new and more diverse audience in these locations. The Virtual Orchestra combines digital and virtual reality installations; schools, community and family workshops; a fringe programme and live performances; all outside traditional concert hall venues. They are looking for an Audience Development Manager to be a key part of the first two years of planning, delivery and evaluation of this project. This is a pivotal role working across three departments at the Philharmonia – Marketing, Education and Concerts – helping to deliver an ambitious project and to facilitate communication between departments in a busy organisation.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management role, preferably within the arts, to include time spent working on audience development projects and managing large-scale events.
