Creative Schools: Project Lead

Creative Schools: Project Lead

Friday, 14 July 2017, 12.00pm

The Arts Council is partnering with the Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to develop Scoileanna Ildánacha/Creative Schools.

The Arts Council is currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified service provider (Company/Individual) to provide the services of Project Lead – Creative Schools. Services are required over a period of two to six years.

Scoileanna Ildánacha/Creative Schools is being developed in the context of Creative Ireland 2017–2022. Enabling the creative potential of every child is a priority of the Creative Ireland programme (Pillar One). Drawing on the commitments set out in the Arts in Education Charter, Creative Schools aims to understand, develop and celebrate the arts as a core aspect of school life, and to foster children and young people’s creativity and participation in the arts as an integral part of their education in Ireland.

A pilot phase of the Creative Schools initiative will take place over a two-year period. During this time, the Project Lead will be responsible for providing coherence and structure to the programme in a manner that is shaped by key stakeholders and informants, including children and young people, their school communities (including teachers, principals), and creative partners (including local and national artists/creative practitioners and arts/cultural organisations).

The Project Lead will also be responsible during this phase for planning for the future development of Creative Schools, including scaling up to reach a wider number of schools, and establishing the operational structure of the initiative in the medium to long-term. During the pilot phase, the Project Lead will be based in the Arts Council. A steering group and/or advisory group will be established to support the project.

The Tender has been published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU) and is available on www.etenders.gov.ie at the following link: https://goo.gl/svW6WW
