Friday, 31 May 2019, 11.55pm

The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick is currently accepting applications for its MA Festive Arts. The deadline is 10 August 2019.

One of 17 Master’s degrees at the Academy, the MA Festive Arts programme (one year, full-time) was the winner of the ‘Best New Course’ Award at the 2015 GradIreland Awards, and focusses on the range of skills around the production of festivals, including arts management, curation, funding, project management, marketing and community engagement. Students have the opportunity to undertake independent study on a topic of their choice and undertake practical placement work in the industry.

The director of the course is Dr Niamh Nic Gabhann, whose current research focusses on art and architecture in Ireland, exploring concepts of space, memory, performance and body. Past students of the programme include directors, programme managers and freelance arts project managers.
