Alex Petcu is an Irish musician of Romanian origin, who is quickly establishing himself both nationally and internationally as a percussionist of the finest calibre. As one of the few Irish percussionists to focus on solo and chamber music, Alex has championed and developed the existing repertoire by giving numerous recitals and working closely with composers. He also recently won first prize at the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition and reached the semi-finals at the Tromp International Percussion Competition, one of the most prestigious percussion competitions. www.alexpetcu.com

Francis Hyland first took an interest in James Joyce in the early 70s while working as a school teacher in Africa. At a loss for reading material, he was given a copy of Ulysses, and thus began a lifelong fascination with the author and his works. Here he presents excerpts from the three major writings, Dubliners, Ulysses and Finnegans Wake.

Using a combination of feedback, conventional guitar techniques, and mechanical instrumental preparations, London-based electric guitarist, James O Sullivan exploits the full sonic potential of electric guitar, amplifier and the environment in which both are placed. His interest in improvisation, recording and performance has led him to record and perform internationally, both solo, and with numerous improvised groups including Found Drowned, Syneuma, and Four Seasons Television. His debut solo album ‘feed back couple’, was released on the Forwind  label in 2011, and he has been a regular player on releases from London-based improv label, Aural Terrains since 2009. www.jamesosullivan.co.uk

The Lilliput Press was founded in 1984 by Antony Farrell in County Westmeath. Jonathan Swift spent his summers in a house nearby, and derived the name Lilliput from a local townland. The office was moved to its present locale in Arbour Hill, north Dublin, in 1989. Some 400 titles have appeared under its imprint; these encompass art and architecture, autobiography and memoir, biography and history, ecology and environmentalism, essays and literary criticism, philosophy, current affairs and popular culture, fiction, drama and poetry, all broadly focused on Irish themes. www.lilliputpress.ie
