Trabolgan Holiday Village, East Cork, Ireland
Strictly over 21s

Ireland’s only live-in music festival, It Takes a Village, returns for its second edition, taking over Trabolgan in East Cork for 3 days of the very best Irish and International music, conversations, and games, from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th May, 2019.

The line-up features a diverse range of music, from folk to funk, rock to rap. Festival attendees will be spoiled with over 60 performances over the weekend, from the likes of Gilles Peterson, AE MAK, Kojaque, James Holden and The Animal Spirits, Le Boom, Awesome Tapes from Africa, David Kitt, Junior Brother, TPM, The Herbaliser, Lords of Strut, Nialler9, Don Letts, Kevin Barry, Lisa O’Neill and Meltybrains. The full day-by-day schedule is out now. See below.

It Takes a Village is a strictly no-camping festival. Instead of kipping out in muddy fields, the festival ticket includes 3 nights accommodation in one of the site’s 150 self-catering houses and apartments, or one of the 35 fully-serviced campervan sites. You’ll reach ‘peak notions’ with a clean bed, warm showers, and private bathrooms, for the weekend.

This is a festival with a roof over your head whatever the weather, with three main indoor stages and various pop-up gigs. Festival attendees can also dive into the wet and wild indoor pool parties, visit the Birds of Prey centre to get up close and personal with real life owls and falcons, take a ride on the Go-Karts, play games at the arcade, or, get out and ride the soundwaves on the festival’s newest offering, the Cork Harbour Boat Party, with special guest DJ’s Bon Voyage and Nialler 9, taking place on Sunday 12th April.

A very limited number of weekend tickets are available from www.ittakesavillage.fm. It Takes A Village is a residents only affair so there are no weekend tickets without accommodation. Sunday Day tickets are available, with a bus leaving from the Patrick’s Quay Air Coach stop in the City Centre if you fancy popping down for the day (€8 each way). Or, if you can’t make the festival, why not pop along to the Sunday afternoon Boat Party, for only €25. Book at www.ittakesavillage.fm
