Applications are invited for the above post based at the University of Nottingham, University Park Campus. The Department of Music is one of the UK’s leading centres for teaching and research in Music. The appointee to this post will play a central role in continuing to develop the Department’s provision in response to changing student demand.

The successful candidate will have expertise in any area of musicology which will enhance the department’s existing curriculum and research strengths. The person appointed will be expected to teach a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to conduct internationally excellent research (involving the production of research outputs and impact case studies for forthcoming national research assessment exercises), to attract external research funding, to supervise postgraduate research students, and to contribute to departmental administration.

Candidates must have a PhD in Musicology (or be near completion), or substantial, internationally recognised equivalent experience. They must also have the capacity to contribute to the department in terms of the development and delivery of the curriculum, student recruitment (especially at PG level), research and impact, administration, and pastoral support for students. Desirable attributes include a portfolio of (developing) research outputs of international excellence, evidence of external research grant capture, and 30 credits of a PG teaching certificate (or equivalent).

This post will be offered as a permanent contract. The hours of work are full-time, 36.25 hours per week.
