UK Music is a campaigning and lobbying body that represents the collective interests of the UK music industry, and is hiring a new policy and research officer.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO and Director of Public Affairs, responsibilities as below:

  • Support the Deputy CEO and Director of Public Affairs on projects and events to ensure the best possible exposure of our work to political audiences.
  • Monitor and prepare reports on developments in Government, devolved administrations relevant to public affairs strategy.
  • Administrative and policy support to UK Music Rights Committee, UK Live Music Group and any ad-hoc policy focused committees involving UK Music membership.
  • Draft publications, briefings and submissions for external audiences to support the public affairs strategy.
  • Develop materials to support campaigns to achieve political objectives.
  • Attend and contribute to external events and meetings relevant to public affairs strategy.
  • Assist with data collection and compiling of statistics to enhance wider understanding of the music industry.
  • Liaise with English City Regions, devolved administrations and local authorities to cement partnerships that develop the music industry in the areas that they represent.
  • Help build contacts at UK Government official level, as well as devolved administrations.
