Music Current: KLANK plays KLANK

Music Current: KLANK plays KLANK

Friday, 28 April 2017, 8.00pm

Bremen-based quartet KLANK Musik Aktions Ensemble bring their mad, lucid logic to Dublin for the first time in a programme of works developed by the group.

KLANK have created their own sonic universe from a dizzying array of musical techniques and cultural approaches.

Whether using kitchen utensils, office equipment, children’s toys or tools from whatever workplace, KLANK is willing to declare almost everything a musical instrument. And in their brand of Klang-Aktionen (sound performances), they can make everything sing.

Performers:
Reinhart Hammerschmidt - double bass, stuff
Markus Markowski - electric guitar, stuff
Christoph Ogiermann - violin, voice, stuff
Tim Schomacker - everyday percussion, voice, stuff

This concert is part of MUSIC CURRENT 2017, a three-day festival of contemporary electronic music proudly presented by Dublin Sound Lab. More details at www.musiccurrent.ie.

With kind support from Arts Council IrelandDublin City Arts Office The Contemporary Music Centre IMRO Ireland Association of Irish Composers.
