Music Current: New Voices

Music Current: New Voices

Saturday, 29 April 2017, 4.00pm

A concert of new works for soprano and electronics developed by participant composers during festival workshops.

During the three-day Music Current festival, participant composers will be hard at work, taking masterclasses and workshops with composer Christopher Fox, soprano Elizabeth Hilliard, and sound engineer Alexis Nealon, to produce performance-ready pieces for this public concert.

Participant composers include Des Clarke, Elis Czerniak, Francis Heery, Edmund Hunt, Elizabeth O’Brien, Silvia Rosani, and Steven Whiteley. One of the participating composers will be awarded the IMRO Ireland/Music Current commission of €2,500 for a new work to be premiered at Music Current 2018.

As part of New Voices, Dublin Sound Lab is also proud to present S:NP-VP-NP, Anna Murray’s newly commissioned cryptic invention for harpsichord and electronics. Anna was recipient of the Music Current commission awarded at last year’s festival.

This concert is part of MUSIC CURRENT 2017, a three-day festival of contemporary electronic music. More details at
