BCMG has once again partnered with Sound and Music (SaM) for our annual Apprentice Composer-in-Residence scheme. Recent residencies have seen us work with a diverse range of composers including Charlotte Bray, Seán Clancy, Joanna Lee, Shiori Usui, and Arne Gieshoff.

This residency provides one selected composer with the opportunity to immerse themselves in BCMG’s activities from September 2015 to summer/autumn 2016, observing and participating in all aspects and developing an insight into a broad range of BCMG’s work. The composer will write a new work for the ensemble, premiering in 2016, as well as a potential short solo piece for a young performer early on in the residency, as part of BCMG’s Learning and Participation programme.
